I’m rewatching Brooklyn-99 and honestly I am so sad Chelsea Peretti won’t be returning as a main cast member. Not only is Gina consistently responsible for some of the best one-liners, but she’s also like the other characters’ secret, snarky godmother. She’s always helping everyone, giving them tough-love advice, and being unapologetically herself. I used to hate her but then I realized that she’s actually responsible for some truly touching and transformative moments for almost everyone on the squad. If someone has an episode at the precinct, Gina is gonna be there to help them learn some shit about themselves, and she’s going to be a beautiful, natural presence all at the same time.
ok but listen up!! what if jake was a real dork as a teenager and couldn’t really talk to any girls apart from gina. so for most of his life the only woman he had in his life (apart from his mom) was gina. that’s why he understands her so well and, before he and amy got close, he had some weird views on women like that “do you have a hairdryer in your purse?” stuff, you know?? jake and gina would spend a whole bunch of time together at granny’s house, watching movies and drinking way too much soda and just becoming bros and jake would come to gina whenever he had problems with girls or needed advice and gina would tell him that “if they don’t like your stupid ass, they are dumb and don’t deserve you anyway!!!” and gina would show him her new dance moves and ask him for help so she could improve herself and they would be the real besties!!! and i love jake and gina’s friendship so much!!!!!!!!!
The reason why Gina Linetti didn’t die after being hit by that bus is that the management at The Good Place and The Bad Place wanted to keep their jobs.
